Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 100 urban piped drinking water supply projects through a video conferencing at a special function at the Secretariat here today.

Patnaik also laid foundation stones for a hundred more drinking water supply projects on the occasion. Besides, he launched two systems- online Smart Water Information Management and e-Building Pass.

The Chief Minister said the State Government is working with a commitment towards improving urban governance in the State. “While 100 urban drinking water projects were dedicated today, the work for a hundred more projects also started. Besides, the online Smart Water Information Management system and other citizen-centric services were launched to bring more accountability and efficiency in urban water management,” he stated.

Urban Development Minister Pushpendu Singhdeo said the online Smart Water Information Management system would provide information on various aspects like the quality of water, pipe water connection and collection of water tax.

“The e-Building Pass system would simplify the building approval process benefiting the people. Besides, the time limit for getting various NOCs has been fixed. With this, people can easily get their building plan approval through online,” he added.
