Class X girl injured after ceiling fan falls on her

Dhenkanal: A 15-year-old class-X girl sustained critical head injuries after a ceiling fan fell on her in the classroom at Sulakhyana Devi Girls’ High School here in the town today.

Critically injured Mili Sethy has been admitted to District Headquarters Hospital.

"Soon after the prayer, students were waiting for the class teacher while the incident occurred. The General Electrical Division (GED) repairs the fan and replaces the old ones every year. But, I don't understand what the problem was with this fan particularly," said teacher Minati Dehury.

The victim said the fan was unsafe. “The fan was in a bad condition and had also fallen earlier. Teachers know the condition of the fan," Mili said.
