Soro: Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera flagged off city bus services in Balasore district today. Ten buses will run on five routes in the first phase of the service.

While two buses will run from Balasore town to Mitrapur via Remuna Golei, two others will ply from Station Chhak to Gandhi Smruti Bhawan via Phuladi.

Similarly, two buses will run from Station Chhak to Soro via Banka Khajuri Chhak and two others from Station Chhak to Sajnagad via Sergarh.

The last two buses will run from Somnathpur to Balaramgadi via ITI Chhak.

Talking to media persons, Behera said, "Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has started many schemes in transportation sector like Biju Gaon Gadi Yojana. City bus services has started in many areas and it was done here on the occasion of Independence day. It will be started phase wise in many other areas to connect rural and urban areas."

Chairperson of Balasore Municipality Alok Kumar Sahu informed that 10 more buses will connect other places in the district in the second phase of the service.
