Jajpur: The two CISF jawans accused of thrashing over 30 students and two teachers of a residential school in Kalinga Nagar of Jajpur district on Sunday were suspended from duty today.

The two jawans, deployed as security guards at a steel plant here, faced the action for reportedly entering the premises of Gobarghati Residential School in Kalinga Nagar on Sunday and thrashing 33 students along with two teachers.

Following the incident, the school students along with locals had staged a dharna in front of the main gate of the steel plant and blocked the Chandikhole-Duburi NH-200 on Monday demanding immediate arrest of the accused.

Meanwhile, the CISF camp has been shifted to Paradip. The Gobarghati Residential School will also be shifted from the place after identification of proper land, informed Jajpur Collector.
