Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actors Mihir Das and Anu Choudhury will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the State party office here tomorrow.
As per sources, the two cine artistes along with former Satyabadi MLA Ramaranjan Baliarsingh, who had recently resigned from the ruling BJD, will join the BJP at the party headquarters in the presence of senior leaders, including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party will organise ‘Mishran Parva’ for the same in the afternoon tomorrow.
Talks are doing the round that the BJP will use the popularity of the actors as its strategy for the coming elections.
Before his joining, actor Das said, “Now I will get in touch with the people directly and dedicate the rest of my life working for them.”
Choudhury said she decided to join the saffron party after being inspired by the ideology of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will work hard for the benefit of masses.
Former legislator Baliarsingh after resigning from primary membership of the BJD, alleging interference of bureaucrats into party affairs, had earlier confirmed about his joining in the saffron party.
More than 35 personalities, including several actors and actresses, have so far joined the BJP after the Panchayat elections last year.
The Mishran Parva will continue till 2019 elections, said party sources.
