Bhubaneswar: The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) today expressed concerns that publication of Annual Higher Secondary Examination-2018 (Plus-II) results is likely to get delayed this year.

CHSE Chairman Amarendra Pattnaik said since almost 50 per cent teachers have not joined to evaluate Plus-II answer sheets, publication of the results is likely to get delayed.

“Total 5,800 teachers were asked to join the evaluation process this year. But, 50 per cent of them have not joined yet. In comparison to last year, around 5,000 less papers have so far been evaluated.”

Pattnaik further said that action will be taken against teachers not taking part in the evaluation process.

“Action will be initiated against teachers if they do not join the evaluation duty tomorrow. The Controller of Examination has been instructed to direct supervisors of all evaluation centres to file FIR against absentee teachers. No reasons barring health-related issues will be accepted as grounds for remaining absent,” he added.

In a press release, the CHSE stated that in order to compensate the shortage of evaluators, the valuation zone supervisors have been empowered to appoint examiners from among the eligible teachers of Higher Secondary, Degree and Model colleges who have not been appointed as examiners.

This year, a total of 3, 80,707 students have appeared for Plus-II annual examinations which were held between March 6 and 29.
