Bhubaneswar: A day after the major goof-up in plus two examination that saw chemistry question papers in place of Mathmatics, the School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra asked the examination controller of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE)to probe the matter and submit report within two weeks.

"The examination controller of CHSE has been asked to investigate the matter and produce report in two weeks. The controller will visit the press where the question papers were printed and packed. If the press was found to have committed the blunder, it will be black-listed. The alleged conspiracy angle behind the incident will also come under the purview of investigation", Mishra said.

The CHSE authorities squarely blamed the printing press for the goof-up. Examination controller Biranchi Narayan Mishra said the press looks into the printing and packaging the question papers. The same packages are despatched to the examination hubs, he had said.

Chemistry question papers of the subject were ‘wrongly’ despatched to several examination centres of the State instead of Mathematics, leading to confusion among the examinees.

The incident was first reported at BJB College at Gadarodanga in Puri district. Later, some other colleges also witnessed same incidents.

The examination was delayed by around one hour due to the problem. The test was again conducted after the Mathematics question papers were brought from nearby centres and photocopied.

The Council announced rescheduling the Chemistry examination from March 16 to 30. The test will begin from 2 pm.
