Choudwar-Cuttack MLA prevents slum dwellers to meet CM

Cuttack: BJD's Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal was seen donning the role of police during the visit of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to the State Maritime Museum at Jobra to inaugurate the state-of-the-art 4D-SFX theatre on Friday.

Some residents of Maa Mangala Basti had arrived near the inauguration venue with placards to seek attention of the CM over some of their demands and grievances.

Apprehending unruly scenes prior to the scheduled visit of the Chief Minister, Biswal  tried to pacify and disperse them. He shoved the crowd back in presence of the police.

Biswal, however, refuted of shoving the crowd back and said he only tried to maintain discipline at the spot.
