Sambalpur/Bhubaneswar: Demanding early return of their hard-earned money, hundreds of investors duped by chit fund companies started a mass protest in Sambalpur on Tuesday.

According to reports, investors from Baragarh, Balangir, Sundargarh and Deogarh districts are set to join the protest rally, which is scheduled to be held in Samblapur Nari Seva Sadan.

“The programme would start at 10 am and will continue till 3 pm. it is scheduled to be attended by the leaders of opposition parties besides our advisor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and senior journalist Rabi Das among others,” said Anuradha Subudhi, joint convener of the duped depositors’ association.

She said Bhakta Das of the Congress, Suresh Pujari and Prithiraj Harichandan from BJP and Prafulla Samantray of Lokasakti Abhiyan are among the leaders who will address the gathering.

“We want our money and to make sure something like this does not happen again,” said Subudhi.

After Sambalpur, similar conventions would be held in Nayagarh on June 10 and in Balasore on June 17, reports added.
