Chit-fund, tender fixing link: BJP demands arrest of two BJD MLAs

Cuttack: The State unit of BJP on Sunday demanded arrest of Cuttack Barabati MLA Debasis Samantray and Cuttack Choudwar MLA Prabhat Biswal alleging the involvement of the legislators in chit fund scam and tender fixing.

Talking to media persons, Nayan Mohanty, BJP Vice President, said, “We will meet the CBI SP Bhubaneswar and Crime Branch DG demanding criminal case against the two MLAs. Besides, we will protest in front of the Cuttack Collector and Cuttack Municipal Corporation offices until the demands are not met.”

He alleged the two legislators have won the polls with the help of money earned from the chit fund and muscle power of the gangsters.

Refuting the charges, the Cuttack Choudwar MLA said, “The person, who is making the allegations, has been doing so for the past 20 years. Therefore, voters are rejecting him. People of the constituency know I am not involved in any tender fixing and hooliganism.”

Meanwhile, the Cuttack Barabati MLA was not available for reactions.
