Aska: A three-member team of CBI officials today arrived in Aska in Ganjam district to probe into the chit fund scam.

Reports said the officials of the central investigating agency led by SP, Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Additional SP, Rajiv Sinha, after their arrival in Aska town, went to Revenue Inspection bungalow where they verified the bond, money receipts and other documents of the investors who had deposited their money in the Golden Land Developers Private Ltd and GLP Developers Ltd.

The CBI had taken up investigation into the chit fund scam following allegation by the investors that these companies have not paid the maturity amount.

“I had invested Rs 22 lakh in these two companies. But they did not give me the maturity amount. After I heard about the arrival of CBI team here, about 15 investors including myself met them today and redressed our grievances,” said Sudhir Kumar Patra.

He said these two companies have collected nearly Rs 5 crore from the people in Aska area.

“We have verified the documents provided by these two companies to the investors. We have also recorded the statements of the investors and will submit a report to the Supreme Court,” said the CBI SP.
