Bhubaneswar: The special CBI court here today allowed the central investigating agency probing the multi thousand crore chit fund scam to take three directors of Silicon Project India Ltd on a two-day remand for interrogation.

The CBI had arrested the three directors from Kolkata and brought them to Bhubaneswar yesterday.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the company has swindled more than Rs 30 crore from the people of five states, including Odisha, through several schemes with a promise of attractive returns.

With the arrest of the three directors, the CBI is on the lookout for more than seven absconding staffs of the company.
