Bhubaneswar: Various School and State-level competitions will be organised by School and Mass Education department on November 14 to celebrate Children's Day throughout the State.

Students from Class I to V will participate in Essay, from Class VI to VIII in Poetry and from Class VIII to X in Debate competition.

A district will select maximum 1200 participants, out of which 200 will participate in the district level function and rest will participate at panchayat, block or sub-divisional level function. The Block Education Officers (BEOs) and District Education Officers (DEOs) have been asked to make a detailed plan of action so that all students of the school will attend the Chief Minister's programme on November 14.

The Head Masters and School Management Committee (SMC) members have been instructed to contact the villagers or parents having television with set top box connection to watch the programme.

A meeting between the SMC and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) will be held on November 11 to discuss observation of Children's Day. A report on attendance of the students, parents and SMC members will be submitted to State Project Office (SPO) by November 12 for onward transmission to government.

The expenditure for the event will be met from the funds allocated under Community Mobilisation and Media budget of the district with a ceiling of Rs 100 per participant.
