Bhawanipatna: The District Police on Tuesday arrested nine persons including Chhattisgarh BJP NGO Cell  Secretary Lokesh Kawadia on charges of distributing cash in Thuamul Rampur block in Kalahandi district.

Lokesh along with eight others were detained from the village in Thuamul Rampur block yesterday while distributing money in the poll bound area.

Cash of Rs 2.11 lakh and four vehicles were also seized from their possession.

Notably, the final phase of panchayat polls was held in the block today.
