Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned 165 rural road projects and 36 bridges for Odisha at a total cost of Rs 406.06 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

The share of the Centre and the State is Rs 206.83 crore and Rs 219.23 crore, respectively. The State government will build a total of 581.67 km roads and 2939.65 m bridge for connecting nearly 9000 habitations, an official statement said.

The Empowered Committee which had met on January 8 for PMGSY-I (2017-18), cleared the projects with revised cost on the basis of the recommendations of the Committee and substantial compliance by the State government.
