Bhubaneswar: Subham Acharya of Mothers Public School, Bhubaneswar has emerged topper in the Bhubaneswar region in this year’s annual XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results of which were announced today.

The Bhubaneswar boy has secured 98.40 percent of marks. Besides, Ayushi Agrawal has stood second while Rishav Kumar and Sandeep Patnaik of Bhubaneswar region have jointly stood third in the examinations.

The pass percentage of girls in the Odisha region is 91.82 while the pass percentage of boys in the region is 86.27.

Compared to the pass percentage in the private schools in Bhubaneswar region which is 87.21, the performance of the government schools is disappointing with 67.86.

On the other hand, students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas have come up with flying colours with a pass percentage of 97.40 while the Kendriya Vidyalayas also have a commendable performance with 94.40 percent pass results.

Out of a total of 10,69,900 students in the country, 52,080 students of Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal in the Bhubaneswar region had appeared in the examinations of which about 13,000 students were from Odisha.

As informed by the CBSE earlier, students can get their results on the website www.cbse.nic.in from 12 PM onwards. Besides, they will also get their mark-sheets from this website by mentioning their roll number.

The CBSE which had announced the Class XII results on May 26 last year, has been able to announce the results five days earlier.

Notably, Union HRD minister Smriti Irani in a statement to the media on May 19 had said the annual CBSE Class XII results would be announced before schedule by May last week.
