Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it mandatory for students to submit their Aadhaar number to register for the board exams of Class 9 and 11 from 2017-18.

CBSE, in a circular released on September 26, has detailed the registration guidelines for class 9 and class 11. The board has notified all the CBSE-affiliated schools to register their students on its official website by submitting the required documents and subject-related details.

Meanwhile, students without the Aadhaar number can submit the Aadhaar enrolment number for the registration. Residents of Indian states where Aadhaar enrolment is yet to be done may provide Bank details in lieu of the Aadhaar number. Passport number is required for foreign nationals.
