Bhubaneswar: The main offline test of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be held today.

As per the CBSE notification, the JEE Main offline examination would be held in two sittings from 9.30 am and 12.30 pm for the engineering stream and from 2 pm to 5 pm for the architecture stream.

Though the exam will start at 9:30 am, candidates have been asked to report at the examination centre at 7:00 am, the notification stated.

While about 13 lakh students will appear in the examinations in the country, about 48,000 students will appear in the examinations in 71 centres in nine prominent cities of Odisha, including 21 centres in Bhubaneswar.

The other centres in the state are Angul, Balasore, Berhampur, Bhawanipatna, Cuttack, Jeypore, Rourkela and Sambalpur.

The online JEE Main examination would be held on April 10 and 11.The students have to apply and deposit their examination fee online through JEE website www.jeemain.nic.in.

Meanwhile, to make the test more transparent, CBSE has asked the students to come to the examination hall only with their admit cards as no other articles will be allowed inside the hall. No student will be allowed to enter into the hall with mobile phone, wrist watch and other electronic gadgets.

For the first time CBSE will provide pens, pencils and other items to candidates in the entrance hall. The Board has also planned to install mobile jammers in all the examination halls.
