Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the residence of retired Justice of Orissa High Court, IM Quddusi in New Delhi and his other occupied accommodations across the country after booking him for criminal conspiracy and corruption.

The anti-corruption wing registered a case against Quddusi under section 120 B of IPC on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in settling a debarment order of the Medical Council of India (MCI) against a private medical college.

In connection with the case, CBI confirmed that its officials also visited the house of a sitting Orissa HC Justice in Cuttack which was earlier occupied by Quddusi.

However, CBI’s arbitrary entry to the sitting judge’s house was vehemently protested by the Orissa High Court Bar Association following which a case was registered against the investigating agency with Cantonment police.

Clarifying its actions, a CBI spokesperson said that there was confusion because the address of a sitting judge in Cuttack was also the official address of Quddusi before his retirement and it has not been changed in records available with the agency.
