Bhubaneswar: Intensifying its probe into the multi-crore chit-fund scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday raided the residences of Seashore CMD Prashant Das at Laxmisagar in Bhubaneswar and Angul.

Two flats in an apartment in Laxmisagar area owned by Das were searched and several incriminating documents seized during the raid.

A team of CBI sleuths from Ranchi also participated in the raid. More than Rs 70 lakh was allegedly defrauded by Seashore in the Jharkhand capital.

Similarly, the sleuths also raided the house of a woman director of Seashore at Palasuni in Bhubaneswar.

More than Rs 500 crores of investors’ money was allegedly usurped by Seashore. The Crime Branch of Odisha Police had initially probed the case and arrested the CMD Das.

However, later the CBI conducted its probe into the chit-fund scam as per a directive from the Supreme Court.
