Bhubaneswar: In a major relief for arrested BJD MP Ramchandra Hansda, the CBI court granted him a two day leave basing on his petition to vote in the Vice Presidential elections.

After getting necessary permissions from the court, Hansda left for New Delhi and cast his vote in the Vice-Presidential election held today.

Hansda said as he believes in Gandhism, he had sought the permission to vote. “I was not allowed to vote during the Presidential poll which is quite saddening,” the BJD MP added.

On a query regarding the chit-fund scam, Hansda replied truth will ultimately prevail.

Hansda, who was arrested in connection with the Nabadiganta chit fund scam, was earlier denied bail by CBI to exercise his franchise in the Presidential Election that was held on July 17.

It may be mentioned that Hansda was the founder director of  chit fund firm Nabadiganta Capital Services. CBI had recovered large amount of unaccountable money from his house. He was arrested on November 2014 and since then he was lodged at Jharpada special jail in Bhubaneswar.
