CB traces Oscar Group’s Rs 15cr properties in Odisha, Gujarat

Bhubaneswar: After making public the possible link between chit fund firm Oscar Group and Ollywood actors in the production of Odia films, the Crime Branch of Odisha police on Monday said that the company has properties worth Rs 15 crores in Odisha and Gujarat.

Preliminary investigations showed that the company has 20 acre of land in the State. Besides, the investigating agency believes from the seized documents that Prabhas Chandra Rout, chairman of the company has invested around Rs 60-70 lakh in various mutual funds.

If highly placed sources are to be believed, the Ponzi firm has at least 10 bank accounts in the State with Rs 50 lakh cash deposit in each account.

Sources added the company has transacted crores of rupees with influential persons including construction companies, builders, politicians and film artistes.

Unconfirmed reports said, the chit fund company has as many as 14 properties in Gujarat worth Rs seven crore including seven offices and seven plots.
