Paradip: Industrialist and Managing Director of Odisha Stevedores Limited (OSL), Mahimananda Mishra who is in police remand in connection with the murder of the Seaways Shipping company manager Mahendra Swain was grilled by the Crime Branch of Odisha police over an abduction case in 1995.
Two senior Crime Branch officials had arrived in Paradip today to interrogate the Mahima.
Notably, in 1995, Pratap Chandra Das, who was the then manager of JM Bakshi company was abducted in Paradip.

According to sources, the Crime Branch officials sought to know Mahima’s link in the abduction, whether OSL had any rivalry with JM Bakshi company and the controversies surrounding stevedoring business during that time.
The Paradip police had taken industrialist Mahima Mishra on a four-day remand on January 1 in connection with the murder of Mahendra Swain, general manager of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Ltd (SSLL).
