Bhubaneswar: Police busted a cattle trafficking racket and seized five trucks illegally carrying more than 150 heads of cattle from Pandra area on Puri-Cuttack by-pass road late on Wednesday night. The police also arrested 11 persons for their involvement in the illegal trafficking.

According to sources, the cattle were being transported to Cuttack from Puri in horrific conditions.

Many cows were rescued with grievous injuries that they suffered after standing for long hours in the overloaded truck, the sources added.

These cows were slated to be sent outside the state after reaching Cuttack, the sources informed.
