Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 will be conducted on November 26, 2017 in two sessions. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, the organizing authority of IIM CAT 2017, today released the notification for the entrance examination for admission into 20 IIMs and more than 150 management schools across the country.

The registrations for the CAT exam will open on August 9 2017 and will close on September 20, 2017, stated a press release issued by IIM Lucknow on Saturday.

The test will be conducted in as many as 140 cities. The candidates will be given the option to select four test cities in order of preference. Only after the last date for CAT registration, the candidates will be assigned test cities and centres, and hence, they need not hurry to block slots and cities in the initial days of registration, the release stated.

This year, IIM-L will be conducting CAT after a gap of seven years.

Important dates for CAT 2017

  • Registration Starts: August 9, 2017
  • Registration Closes: September 20, 2017
  • Admit Card Download: October 18 to November 26, 2017
  • Examination Date: Nov 26, 2017
  • Result declaration: Second week of January 2018
  • Examination Fees: Rs 900 for SC, ST and PwD. For general category, it is Rs 1800.

The duration of the test will be 180 minutes. There will be three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability.

Candidates clearing the exam will be eligible for admission to management courses, including PGP, PGDM, PGPEM, EPGP, PGPBM and PGPEX at various IIMs across the country.
