Cash looted from SBI ATM in Rourkela

Rourkela: After a respite of few days, unidentified miscreants again looted cash from an State Bank of India (SBI) ATM counter at Dumerta under Bandhamunda police limits in Rourkela late Friday night.

As per sources, the miscreants broke the ATM machine with the help of a digging bar lying near one of the houses in the locality and allegedly looted all the cash from the machine.

Meanwhile, on getting information, police along with a scientific team and Bank Engineer reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident.

The exact of amount of cash looted has not been ascertained yet, sources said.

In another similar incident last month, a State Bank ATM was allegedly looted by miscreants near medical area of Bahanaga block of Balasore district. Keeping in view to the need of its customers on festive day- Christmas, lakh of rupees was deposited in the ATM machine. However, miscreants allegedly used a gas cutter for the ATM heist and looted it.
