Carrom championship at Barabati; OSCA terms paticipation illegal

Cuttack: Terming the upcoming Carrom championship at the Barabati stadium here from April 11 to 15 as illegal, Odisha State Carrom Association (OSCA) has today warned players of stern action if they participate.

"OSCA has not given accreditation to the association organising the event; it has neither taken permission for the championship. The tournament is illegal and against the norms of All India Carrom Federation (AICF)," said OSCA general secretary Shekh Abdullah.

He asked the players not to take part in the event. He also warned players and coaches, holding rank, of strict action if they participate in the championship.

Meanwhile, the association organising the tournament is yet to comment on the issue.
