Car heist in Bhubaneswar on pretext of test drive

Bhubaneswar: A man, on the pretext of test driving a car before buying it from the owner, has allegedly fled with the vehicle. The deal was being worked out after the owner of the car placed an advertisement in one of the buying and selling sites to sell his car.A complaint in this regard has been lodged at the Infocity police station in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The vehicle owner, in the police complaint, stated the fraudster in the guise of a customer asked for a test drive of the car along with him in the Nandankanan area. Later he insisted on a lone test drive and the car owner agreed. Cheating the owner, the fraudster never returned to the spot rather the rented vehicle which he had used to reach the spot, has been kept in police custody and the driver detained.

In the FIR, it was stated that the miscreant had come to the complainant to purchase his used car after seeing an advertisement on Quickr posted by him.
