Bhubaneswar: The capital stoning and repair work of the four pillars of Jagamohan, the hall facing the sanctum sanctorum of Sri Jagannath Temple, will begin from September 6, said chief administrator of Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Suresh Chandra Mohapatra.

According to sources, a decision in this regard was taken at a high level meeting here on Thursday. Besides, the meeting also decided that the PWD will work under the supervision of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) as the latter is in efficient of steel structuring of the beams.

Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Mohapatra said, “ASI is yet to submit the steel beam design. It will submit the design after a discussion with an expert team of IIT, Chennai.”

“PWD will work under the supervision on ASI and steel structuring of beam will be completed in two to three months,” Mohapatra added.
