Bus services suspended after owner, driver manhandled

Puri: Passengers and devotees coming for darshan of Lord Alarnath had a harrowing time after bus services between Puri- Satpada were disrupted for over two hours here on Sunday.

According to reports, Satpada-Puri Bus Owners Association had detained 10 buses at Brahmagiri market in protest of the attack on a bus owner and driver by an auto rickshaw driver at around 8: 30 am today.

Demanding immediate arrest of the accused autorickshaw driver, the local bus operators had stopped the services and detained few buses as a mark of protest.

Meanwhile, the bus services resumed only after senior officials held discussion with the bus operators and assured for arrest of the accused by tonight.
