Bus owner shot dead

Berhampur: A bus owner was killed after two unknown miscreants shot at him inside a bus at Karanjei square near Aska in Ganjam district on Monday night.

Pratap Pallai of Pakalapalli in Ganjam was going to Berhampur from Aska while the miscreants intercepted the bus near Karanjei and opened two rounds of fire before fleeing the spot.

Pallai sustained critical injuries in neck. He was rushed to Aska Community Health Centre and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur where doctor pronounced him dead.

Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot started investigation. According to preliminary investigation, previous enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the firing.
