Bus fares hiked for second time in 2018

Bhubaneswar: Commuters will now feel the pinch in their pockets as the Odisha Government today revised bus fares across all categories of passenger buses under the automatic fare adjustment mechanism.

This is the second hike of 2018 as the last revision was made in the month of January.

As per information, while the fares for Ordinary and Express buses have been hiked by one paise per kilometre, fares for Deluxe and Air Conditioned (AC) Deluxe category buses have been hiked by 2 paise per kilometre.

Following the revision, Ordinary buses will be charging 68 paise per km as compared to 67 paise per km earlier while the fares of Express buses will increase to 71 paise per km from 70 paise per km.

Similarly, the Deluxe and AC Deluxe bus fares have gone up from 95 to 97 paise per km and Rs 1.17 to Rs 1.19 per km, respectively.
