Builder-film producer arrested for duping customers

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday arrested builder and film producer Niranjan Rana on charges of duping Rs 9 crore from gullible customers after promising to provide them flats.

Sources said Saheed Nagar police on Thursday evening arrested Rana, who is the managing director of Maa Tarini Eastcon Builders ( a real estate company) on charges of cheating.

Rana, a well-known Odia film producer, had produced films like ‘Hari Bhai Harena’, ‘Pahili Raja’, 'Target’, and most recently the Anubhav-Varsha starrer ‘Gote Sua Gote Sari’ among others.
