Bhadrak: Mysterious death of nearly 100 buffaloes in the past seven days has created a panic among livestock farmers particularly in Khatuapatna village of Chandbali in Bhadrak district.

Though the district administration has sent a special team of veterinary doctors for treatment, the death of buffaloes could not be prevented.

The veterinary team collected blood samples and conducted post mortem of dead cattle as well.

Over 200 families in Chandbali area depend upon livestock farming.

Kalakar Palei,  a local resident stated that, "Experts from Dhusuri had visited the village and administered medicine and vaccinated the cattle. But everything failed as our buffaloes died."

Expressing similar views, another farmer Sadananda Pale requested the district administration to provide compensation to affected livestock farmers.
