Bhubaneswar: While the suspense on the whereabouts of wonder marathon boy Budhia Singh continues, an Odia film director who has made a film on the life of the teenager has informed that Budhia is scheduled to arrive in Mumbai in the third week of this month for promotion of his film.

Talking to the media persons at a function in Mumbai yesterday, Soumendra Padhi, director of ‘Budhia Singh: Born to Run’, said Budhia will definitely return to Odisha.

“He was born to run. He is not an escapist. He is a fighter and he will come back. I think he has been, as reported by his sister, to his uncle’s place,” he added.

Reacting to media reports that Budhia had gone missing from the Sports Hostel since last two months, Padhi said “I feel that Budhia deserves his privacy and space. The media sometimes does not give that space. Let Budhia be given that space. He is not yet 18. He will come to Mumbai in the third week of July for promotion of my film and there you can have all the answers,” he informed.

Though the statement of Padhi came a day after the media reported about the missing of Budhia Singh, it is not yet clear why he remained silent on his and his mother’s whereabouts. Now the question is whether the production house had invited Budhia and his mother to Mumbai. If yes, then why has it not confirmed their visit to the city on June 27.

Notably, in an exclusive story on July 7, OTV had reported Budhia's disappearance from the Sports Hostel in Bhubaneswar.
