Budhia, mother in Kodiakanal, says Twin City Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: Ending all speculation, Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania today said boy wonder Budhia Singh and his mother Sukanti Singh have been traced to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu where they are vacationing and will return to Bhubaneswar on July 24-25 via Mumbai.

Revealing that he talked to Budhia and his mother over phone, Khurania dismissed the charge of abduction of the boy.

“I talked to Budhia and his mother who said they are fit and fine and they went to Kodiakanal on a vacation. We will wait for their return to Bhubaneswar and question them on their arrival if the need arises," the commissioner told OTV over phone.

According to sources, the production team of the movie ‘Budhia Sigh – Born To Run’ took Budhia and his mother on a summer vacation. The boy had also applied for leave application in his school, the sources added.

The question that inevitably arises is: why has the production house kept silent when the media was all abuzz with the story of Budhia going missing. Though there is nothing wrong in taking Budhia, on whose story of struggles the movie is based, for promotion, the silence of the producers makes the things appear fishy. Some say this could be a publicity stunt of the production house to create a buzz around his disappearance and cash in on it.
