Bhubaneswar: In a major breather for students keen to enrol for BTech courses, Odisha government on Tuesday announced reduction in counselling fee.

As per the fresh orders, students (general category) will have to pay Rs 10,000, Dibyang and SC, ST students can enrol themselves for admissions by depositing on Rs 5,000 instead of Rs 25,000.

Earlier, Odisha government had decided to complete the counselling process for admission in new format in three phases.

Odisha Private Engineering College Association (OPECA) had opposed the new counselling format and collection of Rs 25,000 from students as it would be a burden on students belonging to poor financial background.
