BSF Jawan arrested for cheating Malkangiri woman

Malkangiri: A BSF jawan posted in West Bengal has been arrested for allegedly cheating and impregnating a woman from Malkangiri district on false assurance of marriage.

The 23-year-old woman had earlier come in contact with the BSF Jawan Suresh Kumar while he was posted at MV 79 at Malkangiri in 2013.

After maintaining physical relationship, the accused jawan had also taken the victim to Sonipat in Haryana where he continued to exploit her sexually, said Malkangiri SP Jaga Mohan Meena.

As per reports, after the woman gave birth to a girl child the jawan broke all ties with her. She waited for him for nearly six months and later returned from Haryana. But as the jawan did not accept the woman, she registered a complaint in connection with the incident in February last year.

"The accused jawan trafficked the girl to Haryana and sexually exploited her. Subsequently, he neglected her for which she returned to Malkangiri," said Meena.
