Bhubaneswar: A day after assessing the anti-Naxal movement in cut-off areas of Chitrakonda of Malkangiri district, BSF ADG Arun Kumar met Odisha DGP RP Sharma at Bhubaneswar camp office today.

A detailed discussion on joint operations and future strategies to curb Maoist menace in the State was held between Kumar and Sharma.

The BSF ADG had visited Lukapani and Bandhaguda forest in the cut-off area of Malkangiri district on Saturday, following an encounter between Maoists and security personnel in which one red rebel was killed on Friday.

Speaking to mediapersons after an on-the-spot examination, Kumar said, the security personnel will have a tactical advantage after completion of the Gurupriya bridge work. If the bridge gets ready by March 2018, it would help in frequent movement of security forces in the area.
