Brawl between two eunuch groups leaves 10 injured

Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Studio square in the city turned into a virtual battle field on Wednesday night after a clash took place between two groups of eunuchs.

The incident happened during procession of the transgenders for immersion of Khudurukuni idols. The situation spiralled out of control when they got into stone pelting and beat each other with sticks. They also attacked each other with knife and other sharp weapons in which 10 from both sides sustained injuries.

The battle continued for around an hour disrupting traffic. The police had to resort to mild lathicharge on the mob as situation went beyond control. The injured eunuchs were admitted to hospital.

Meghna Sahu, a victim said, "One Swety Kinnar and associates from Berhampur, who had beaten us and looted jewellery three months ago, attacked again today."
