BPUT Students stage demonstration in Cuttack

Cuttack: The students of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) today gathered under the banner of United BPUT Students' Association and staged demonstration here at Press Chhak protesting irregularities in different by the institution.

Alleging discrepancies in evaluation of answer papers, delay in publication of results and glitches in the institution's website, the member students of the Association stopped buses of several engineering colleges.

The Association also warned to intensify the protest if their demands are not fulfilled soon.

Meanwhile, the BPUT officials are yet to comment on the issue.

It is worth mentioning that the students of BPUT often face such issue and resort to strike every year. In some instances their protest has even turned violent like in 2015 when police had to resort to mild lathi charge to disperse a group of 50 agitating students injuring several students.
