Cuttack:  Amidst simmering tension between India and China on the border, the Federation of All Odisha Traders’ Association (FAOTA) on Saturday urged for boycott of Chinese products in the State.

The traders under the aegis of FAOTA at an emergency general council meeting held at Malgodown in Cuttack today have decided to stop purchase and sale of Chinese goods and products.

“India is a big consumer market for Chinese products and we have decided not to purchase, sale and use their products to create awareness,” said association secretary BK Mohanty.

Mohanty further stated that ‘war threat’ being issued by China, nearly 10 lakh traders across Odisha will be urged to support the call to boycott Chinese products.

“As a symbolic protest, the traders will also observe a bandh and the exact date will be announced at general council meeting of the association scheduled in last week of July in Bhubaneswar,” Mohanty added.
