Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has served a notice to the state government over the Bomikhal flyover collapse incident that had killed one person and left several injured on September 10.

The Bench comprising Chief Justice Vineet Saran and Justice BR Sarangi, after hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) yesterday, served a notice to the Chief Secretary, Works Secretary, chief engineer (Design and Road), executive engineer (Roads and building) and construction company Panda Infra Project Ltd. The PIL was filed by Nationalist Lawyer’s Forum convenor Sabyasachi Mohapatra. He had demanded a thorough CBI investigation into the incident.

While the next hearing of the case will be held after Dussehra, the court has directed all parties to record their statements before it.

So far, four persons, including Panda Infra owner Pratap Panda and Works Department deputy executive engineer Bansidhar Praharaj have been arrested in connection with the collapse of the under-construction flyover in Bhubaneswar.
