Cuttack: The Orissa High court on Monday granted conditional bail to construction firm Panda Infra Project Director Pratap Panda, who was arrested on September 11 in connection with the collapse of the under-construction flyover near Bomikhal in Bhubaneswar, that left a man dead and 12 others injured.

Though the HC granted bail to Panda, it has directed the lower court to set conditions, stated Pratap Panda's counsel Dharanidhar Nayak.

"After hearing the bail plea, HC directed the lower court to set conditions for Pratap Panda’s release on bail," said Nayak.

According to reports, the construction company Panda Infra had undertaken the contract for the Bomikhal flyover here which collapsed on September 10.

Panda, after he surrendered at the DCP office, was arrested along with suspended Works Department Assistant Engineer Kishore Rout and Panda Infra project manager Vipul Chakraborty. The trio was sent to judicial custody after their bail pleas were rejected by a local court.
