Bolangir: An inter-State racket involved in illegal trafficking of explosives was busted and four persons were arrested by the police, informed Bolangir SDPO Narayan Nayak today.

Nayak said the accused were illegally trafficking the explosives from Jagdamba Traders in Dhenkanal to Titlagarh.

Police also conducted a raid on the shop in Dhenkanal but the owner, Suresh Choudhary, is absconding.

"Our team had visited Dhenkanal for verification but unfortunately they have closed their office and are absconding. But we will definitely take an action against them. People from outside the State are involved in it as the explosives are not manufactured here but are imported," said the SDPO.

The racket was exposed after a vehicle carrying the explosives met with an accident near Ratanpur village, 12 kilometres away from Bolangir, on December 12.
