Body on shoulder in Pallahara: ADMO, Sr medical officer suspended

Pallahara: Taking a serious note of the recent body on shoulder incident in Pallahara of Angul district, the State Health department on Saturday suspended Assistant district medical officer (ADMO) Dr Pratap Chandra Mohanty and Senior Medical Officer Dr Prashant Kumar Mohapatra for dereliction of duty.

Junior Hospital Manager of the Pallahara Hospital Gitanjali Swain was suspended earlier in connection with the same case while security guard Nirakar Naik deployed at the hospital was dismissed from his responsibilities.

Notably, Gati Dhibar of Pechamundi village had requested the hospital authorities to facilitate some arrangements so that he can take his 5-year-old daughter’s body from the hospital to the native place. However, the Pallahara hospital authorities did not pay any heed to Dhibar’s request forcing him to carry the daughter’s body on his shoulder up to the village, situated some 15 km away.
