Body of youth found in hotel with throat slit

Bhubaneswar: In a socking incident, a man was found murdered with throat slit inside a hotel room near Ashok Nagar here on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Gourishankar Tanti (25) of Baunsuni area of Boudh district. The accused, a cousin of the deceased, has been arrested. Police conducted the post mortem at Capital hospital today and seized a knife from the accused. A scientific team with the forensic officials have been engaged in the investigation.

The accused, Saroj Bhabsagar (28), is behaving in an abnormal manner. He seems to be mentally retarded, police said. So, it is difficult to extract any information from him, they added.

Police said Saroj was in an inebriated condition before committing the crime. Police found the hotel furniture broken inside the room. The blood stain clothes and dresses have also been seized.
