Body of woman found stuffed in steel trunk in Tirtol

Tirtol: Decomposed body of an unidentified young woman with hands and legs tied was found stuffed in a locked steel trunk in Dhalatangagada forest under Tirol police limits of Jagatsinghpur district today.

In presence of the Magistrate, the police this morning broke open the trunk and recovered the decomposed body of the young woman wearing a salwar kameez with the hands and legs tied.

Police sources added two constables were stationed near the steel trunk yesterday evening after some locals spotted the box and complained of foul smell emanating from it.

The young woman found in the trunk is believed to be an outsider as no missing report has been filed with the Tirtol cops yet, the police sources informed.

However, a report was registered with the local police on missing of a young man.

A police probe has been launched and the young woman's body has been sent for a post mortem.
