Body of Nalco official found floating in Bindu Sagar

Bhubaneswar: The body of an official of public sector Alumunium major Nalco was found in Bindu Sagar lake near Lingaraj temple here on Tuesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Sameer Kumar Patra, the AGM (Materials) with the Navaratna PSU.

According to sources, Patra attended office yesterday after staying on leave for a few days. After returning home, Rout left his house at around 5 pm saying that he would go to Cuttack.

But in the evening, his body was found floating in Bindu Sagar lake near Lingaraj temple. His dress, shoes and purse were also found near the lake. Besides, the police has also recovered a suicide note from the pocket of Patra which says "no body is responsible for my death, mental disorder."

“We have found a suicide note from the pocket of the deceased. From the preliminary investigation and evidences available it is a drowning case and could probably be a suicide. However, further investigations will reveal what was the real cause of his death,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
