Cuttack: Madhupatna police today found the body of a man hanging from a tree near Kathjodi river bank near Balisahi in the city here.

The body has been identified as that of Braja Kishore Acharya, a native of Upara Balisahi.

Talking to media persons, Dr Ranjit Acharya, nephew of the deceased, said his uncle was working in a company in Bhubaneswar. But he had left the company three months ago due to some problems.

“Last evening, my uncle had told his family members that he going to trim his hair to a nearby saloon. While he was on the way, his son met him and offered to drop him at the saloon which he refused. But he did not return to his house in the night,” he said.

Asked about the reason for the death of his uncle, Ranjit said it could be a pre-planned murder.

“Some people had come to his house three days ago and threatened him with dire consequences. May be these people have killed him,” he added.

In the meanwhile, police has begun investigation after registering a case of unnatural death.
